Porter’s Call Grows Staff, Announces Upcoming Leadership

New leadership has been appointed at Porter’s Call, a nonprofit organization solely committed to offering guidance, encouragement, and support to recording artists.Al Andrews, the company’s founder and executive director, has decided to leave his position with effect from May 2024, elevating Beth Barcus and Chad Karger to co-executive director status.

For a combined 20 years, Barcus and Karger have worked as porters for the company.Additionally, Phil Shay, a seasoned non-profit employee who joined Porter’s Call in 2022, has been appointed Director of Development, while Audrey Ragan and Jared Farley, two new employees, have recently joined the team as Office and Hospitality Manager and Porter, respectively. Andrews intends to always be a passionate advocate for the nonprofit he created 22 years ago. He supports it entirely.

“I cannot express how bright the future of Porter’s Call looks to me,” Al Andrews shares. “Handing off the leadership into the capable hands of Beth and Chad was an easy decision. I believe in them and trust them to lead Porter’s Call, with the support of the entire team, for years to come.”

Board President Matt Signore adds, “This is an exciting and wonderful time to extend the mission of Porter’s Call that Al created and Beth and Chad will shepherd into the future. The addition of Phil, Jared, and Audrey will expand their ability to serve the artist community.”

Being a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Porter’s Call depends exclusively on contributions, sponsorships, and its annual event, “Evening of Stories,” which serves as its main fundraiser. On Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 7:30 p.m., Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts will host their subsequent “Evening of Stories”.
