Jason Gray finds stolen car thanks to AirTag on his guitar pedal

What was meant to be a typical visit to a Nashville-area gym turned into an unexpected and heartbreaking ordeal for the Christian singer-songwriter when his car was stolen during a late-night workout session. However, the incident unfolded into a remarkable story of friendship, quick thinking and a happy ending.

Jason’s evening took a dramatic turn when he came out of the gym to find an empty parking lot where his car had been parked moments earlier.

The situation seemed bleak until Jason realized that his guitar pedal, a prized possession, was in the stolen car, equipped with an AirTag. With hope rekindled, he tracked the device’s location using his smartphone, and to his surprise, he was able to pinpoint the location of his car.

In a show of extraordinary friendship, his friend and Centricity Director of Marketing Kory Henkel took action. He rushed to the location indicated by the AirTag, which was unfortunately a rough part of town. Henkel encountered a police officer at the scene and armed with Jason’s real-time AirTag information and constant updates, they tracked the car through different parts of the city.

Although the car was successfully recovered, the incident was not without problems. Jason’s car keys were nowhere to be found and his wallet, which was also in the car, presented a new challenge. He now faces the task of having new keys made and retrieving his car from an impound lot.
