“In 2016, I suffered a severe concussion that left me unable to work for years,” remembers Janzen. “I couldn’t walk straight, listen to music, have conversations with my wife or look after my children. It has been a very difficult season and without the help of others, my family and I would have been overwhelmed.

We often imagine the dark valleys of life as places where God feels distant, but in this time of suffering I found that the Good Shepherd was closer than ever before… Instead of being swept away, I was drawn out of the darkness lifted into the light. It was still a mess in my head at times (and many tears were shed over the course of my long recovery), but deep down in my soul I was safe.”
